There are lots of creative things that I would like to achieve in 2023 on both a personal and professional level. So I sat down, thought about what I want my priorities to be and made this list of creative goals.

Yes, it’s already March. This is a bit overdue. But it’s always a good time to sit down and think about what you want to accomplish! Even if it’s not the new year anymore.

In making this list of creative goals, I thought about both the big goals I want to reach for my creative career as well as the smaller goals I want to set on a more personal level.

I’ve tried to make the goals measurable wherever possible so that I have a way of holding myself accountable.

Finish writing Song of the Summer

I started writing what would become Song of the Summer in 2015 and it’s been a big project of mine since 2017 so I’ve really had this goal every year since then.

Obviously, ‘finish’ is a big word. Arguably, a book is never finished. It is just released into the world. 

For me, this means completing draft 6 (which was designed to hopefully be my last edit with big structural/plot changes) and getting the book into a state ready to send out to publishers and agents.
